Why students come to us
Being a private candidate is confusing.
Nobody hands you a checklist after a compartment, a fail or a decision to improve. These are the three things that trip most students up.
No school to fill your form
Once you are a private candidate, your old school is no longer responsible for your CBSE form. It is on you.
Deadlines on an unfamiliar portal
Dates are announced on a CBSE portal you have probably never used. Miss the window and you wait a whole year.
The wrong category costs a year
Compartment, improvement and essential repeat each follow different rules. Pick the wrong one and it can cost you the attempt.
We fill your CBSE form
Our team completes your private-candidate form in the right category and confirms it with you.
Never miss a date

How each category works
Compartment
Failed in one subject (up to two in Class 10)CBSE places you in the compartment category when you fail only one subject (up to two in Class 10). You appear only in those subjects in the compartment exam and your original pass year is retained.
- Only the failed subject(s) are re-attempted
- Form is filled through the school or as a private candidate
- Result is declared as PASS once you clear it
Improvement
Passed, but want better marksAlready passed but unhappy with your percentage? The improvement category lets you re-appear in one or more subjects the following year as a private candidate, keeping the better of the two scores.
- Available in the year immediately after passing
- You may appear in one or more subjects
- The higher score is the one you carry forward
Essential Repeat (ER)
Failed in two or more subjects (three or more in Class 10)If you could not clear two or more subjects (three or more in Class 10), CBSE marks the result as Essential Repeat. The whole year is repeated and all subjects are attempted again in the next board exam.
- All subjects are attempted again
- You appear in the next annual board examination
- Private candidate registration is allowed
